Antique Delft blue and white tin-glazed faience plate from the 18th century (circa 1750–1800), hand-painted with a stylised Chinese garden and peony, 23 cm in diameter, 23 cm high and 4 cm deep, originating from Delft, Netherlands, in good condition with minor signs of aging.

AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

A beautiful, hand-painted Delft earthenware plate of tin-glazed faience from the 18th century. The image shows a stylized Chinese garden with a prominent, blooming peony that rises behind rock outcrops and eastern vegetation.
The rising rim is rhythmically decorated with continuous floral cartouches, pomegranate motifs and stylized foliate ornamentation, framed by a double cobalt-blue border. The underside displays the characteristic tin glaze with minimal kiln marks (standing notches).

The plate is in a fair to good antique condition consistent with its age: around the rim are the usual light glaze crazing and small edge losses, which are inherent to the soft texture of 18th-century Delftware.
No large cracks or structural restorations.

Note: The metal clamps shown are for presentation purposes (hanging system).
