Description from the seller
Rafael Yaghobzadeh – Territory (2021)
This work did not have a large print run, it is limited to 400 copies.
Contemporary photography book devoted to Ukraine and the conflict zones of Eastern Europe, Territory, by photojournalist Rafael Yaghobzadeh, was published in 2021 by Nuit Noire éditions.
This work offers a very singular approach to war reporting: the author reworks his images in black-and-white negative, creating a spectral and dystopian atmosphere where destroyed landscapes, anonymous silhouettes and military infrastructures become almost unreal.
Since 2014, Rafael Yaghobzadeh has documented the Kiev revolution, Crimea and the Donbass war.
With Territory, he moves away from mere documentary to develop a more experimental and artistic vision of the conflict.
The book is often described as a "spacetime fault" where human beings appear as thermal targets in the middle of ravaged landscapes.
- Cover: Hardcover, published without dust jacket, as issued
- Page count: 64 (unpaginated)
- Format: 28.5 x 21 cm
Condition: Like new, seems unread. interior free of annotations and bent pages.
Cover bearing very minor traces at the corners, very slightly rubbed.
See the photos included in the description.
Will be shipped in a careful, sturdy and trackable package.
