Description from the seller
Extraordinary collection of nude and risqué photographic portraits. First Edition [Arena Editions, Santa Fe, 2002]; 287 pages; burgundy boards, photograph inset pasted to front board, gold titling to spine, decorative endpapers, an excellent copy.
Carlo Mollino (6 May 1905 – 27 August 1973) was an Italian architect, designer, and photographer based in Turin. He worked across architecture, interior design, furniture, photography, and writing, and also designed a racing car and competed in aerobatic flying. (Wikipedia)
This is the first comprehensive arrangement in book form of the "Villa Zaira Polaroids". In 1960, Mollino set up a house in Turin to use as a photographic studio. Equipped with an exotic wardrobe and a Polaroid camera, he took a huge number of photo portraits, many believed to be of Turin prostitutes, over the next decade. These remained undocumented until the mid 1980s.
Features an introduction by Fulvio Ferrari and an essay by Napoleone Ferrari.
ISBN: 1-892041-60-X / 189204160X.
