Description from the seller
French Art Nouveau Brass Desk Lamp with Frosted Glass Tulip Shade - ca. 1920
An elegant and authentic Art Nouveau desk or bedside lamp, dating from the early 20th century (circa 1900–1920).
The lamp perfectly embodies the French Belle Époque aesthetic with its organic, fluid lines and botanical motifs.
- Material: Made of solid brass with a beautiful, authentic aged patina.
- Base: Heavily ornamented brass base mounted on a solid, polished natural marble slab for excellent stability.
- Shade: A delicate frosted (satin) glass shade shaped like a blooming tulip, with wavy edges. It features an elegant geometric and floral relief pattern, emitting a warm, diffused light.
- Adjustability: The lamp is articulated in two points (at the base and just above the shade) via original wing nuts, allowing precise adjustment of the light angle.
The lamp has been historically rewired/serviced around the mid-20th century (circa 1950s) using German components for safe everyday use.
- The brown bakelite cord switch is fully original from that period and features the official German VDE safety stamp, serial number 1720, and technical specifications (6A / 250V).
- The lamp is in perfect working order, fitted with a standard European 2-pin plug and a functional socket.
In excellent vintage condition, considering its age. The brass shows a gorgeous original patina with minor signs of wear. The marble base is intact with no cracks. The glass shade is fully preserved, with no chips, cracks, or fleabites.
- Height: approx. 35-41 cm (adjustable)
A true collector's piece that adds a touch of classic French elegance to any interior.
The product will be professionally packed and sent safely to your address by local post.
The pictures of the product are made with the highest possible resolution, precisely to capture possible small defects (small scratches, stains, defect), the pictures are part of the product description.
