Icon - Five saints - Wood, Brass

Ancient Russian Orthodox icon painted with tempera on a wooden panel, with an oklad/riza in stamped brass decorated with floral and geometric motifs.

The work presents a religious composition with Christ at the top and figures of saints or apostles in the central scene. Due to wear on the painted surface, precise identification of the subject remains difficult.

The icon appears authentic and coherent with late Tsarist Russian devotional production intended for private domestic use.
