Magnificent antique brass monocular microscope from the prestigious house "Nachet et Fils, rue Serpente, 16, Paris", dating from the second half of the 19th century (Napoleon III era).
The instrument is in good cosmetic condition with a very beautiful original patina. The double-faced mirror (plane and concave) is well preserved and clean. The focusing mechanisms work. The microscope is sold in its original wooden box.
Included:
- Two original eyepieces engraved N°1 and N°2.
- A handwritten historical note in French found inside the box, mentioning a "vétérinaire forain", which adds superb historical provenance to the object.
Box dimensions: about 24 cm (height) x 12 cm (width) x 16 cm (depth).
Note: the wooden shims/ Internal compartments of the box need re-gluing/restoration (some pieces are detached inside, see photos).
