Vintage Porcelain Limoges Table Service in Limoges Porcelain from Sologne - 33 Pieces
Description:
An elegant and authentic vintage place setting in genuine Limoges porcelain, produced under the prestigious brand "Porcelaine de Sologne," dating from the mid-20th century (circa the 1950s).
This stunning set features a classic French romantic floral motif composed of multicolored bouquets (pink roses, yellow tulips, and delicate blue flowers) on dazzling, fine, and uniformly white Limoges porcelain. The pieces are enhanced by a delicate gold rim.
Character of Craftsmanship and Authenticity:
True to the semi-handmade, traditional production of French factories of that era, this service possesses a unique charm. When stacked, there are slight alignment irregularities, gentle undulations on the rims, or tiny height variances from one plate to another. This "handcrafted look" and the absence of the rigidity of modern machine-made pieces is the unmistakable signature of its vintage authenticity.
Details of the Lot and Exact Dimensions (33 Pieces in Total):
21 Large Flat Plates (Plates for Serving / Dinner): Flat profile, ideal for the main course and big dinners. (Diameter: 23.5 cm).
12 Multi-use Deep Plates: Hollow profile with an inclined rim, ideal for serving soup, pasta, salads, or other dishes. (Diameter: 23.0 cm).
Origin: Limoges / Sologne, France
Manufacture: Porcelaine de Sologne (Limoges)
Period: Mid-20th century (1950s)
Mark: Presence of the original green factory mark under the plates (castle logo with two towers and the inscription "FRANCE"), confirming uniform and original production.
Overall Condition: Vintage good condition. The Limoges porcelain retains its brilliance and whiteness, and the floral decoration is well preserved across all pieces. Given its age, the gilding on the rims shows minor signs of normal wear (condition rated between fair and good).
Important State Notes (3 pieces): For total transparency, 30 pieces are structurally perfect, while 3 plates show minor time-related defects: 1 plate has a small rim chip, and 2 plates each show a very fine hairline crack. The issues are clearly visible in the attached photos. No other major defects.
