AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Height: 15 cm (Diameter: 16 cm)

Being entirely handmade, there may be slight variations in size and color compared to the photos and between different pieces of the same series.

This vase was shaped and turned by hand and then fired using the evocative Pitfire technique (pit firing). This technique is characterized by its spectacular and unpredictable aesthetics, capable of imparting unique and unrepeatable shading, decorations, and color effects to each piece.

The fascinating shades and flames on the body of the vase are due to the direct contact of the clay with the fumes, embers and the alchemy of fire in low-oxygen conditions.

The piece underwent a long and meticulous processing cycle: it was subjected to an initial firing (bisque) in a neutral atmosphere for about nine hours at 1020°C. Subsequently, the pit firing at 880°C.

The piece is absolutely safe and contains no toxic or dangerous substances. This vase is intended for decorative purposes only: due to the porosity typical of this firing technique, it is recommended not to fill it with water. For cleaning, use only a dry cloth.

Remember: this is not factory-made, mass-produced ceramic; each vase has its own individual soul. All pieces are fully handmade, turned and finished in my studio in Lecco, Italy.
