The object is a Mecar rifle grenade launcher adapter, a military accessory that is attached to the barrel of a rifle. Manufacturer: Manufactured by the Belgian company Mecar. Compatibility: This specific model is designed for the FN-49 (SAFN) rifle. There are also variants for the Enfield No. 4 and the British SLR rifle. Function: It serves as an extension of the barrel (spigot-type) enabling standard 22mm rifle grenades to be fired. Logo: The round symbol on the side is Mecar's factory mark.

Manufacturer: Mecar (based in Seneffe/Petit-Rœulx-lez-Nivelles). This company was founded in 1938.
