Lacquered and Painted Luigi XV Console with Red Verona Marble Top
Elegant Italian console in the Luigi XV style, dating from the mid-nineteenth century, characterized by a sinuous and flowing structure typical of rocaille taste. The piece features rich lacquered decoration and finely hand-painted floral motifs with central bucolic landscapes, framed by important gilded cartouches and scrolls.
The front band is embellished with a large central medallion with a landscape scene, enclosed by a carved and gilded frame with foliate motifs, while the side panels are also decorated with floral reserves and hand-painted details. The sinuous legs terminate in elegant curved feet, enriched with gilded carvings that give momentum and lightness to the whole.
