The noise is reduced by more than 30 dB with a headroom of 10 dB for overmodulation.
With a good cassette deck, one can rival CD in dynamic range. With a tape machine like a Revox, you can reach 110 dB, which is higher than CD, and for purists, you stay well in pure analog!
This is a device that encodes and decodes the signal, so it is imperative to playback on the device a recording encoded in DBX II.
