The Nikon F4 is the fourth-generation flagship of Nikon's professional F-series, launched in 1988 as Nikon's first professional autofocus SLR. Its iconic, ergonomic body — including the famous red grip stripe — was created by the celebrated Italian designer Giorgetto Giugiaro. The F4 was the first F-series camera to integrate a motor drive (no film-advance lever), giving up to 4 frames per second with the standard MB-20 grip (4x AA), and it brought matrix metering to the professional line through its DP-20 High-Eyepoint Multi-Meter Finder, alongside center-weighted and spot metering.

The F4 is renowned for its unmatched F-mount lens compatibility. It meters and operates with AI, AI-S and AF Nikkor lenses, and can even mount non-AI lenses thanks to its flip-up AI coupling tab. Please note: Shutter-priority (S) and Program (P) modes require AF or P-type (CPU) lenses, while Manual (M) and Aperture-priority (A) work with virtually any F-mount lens; non-AI lenses use stop-down center-weighted metering only. Built like a tank and trusted by professionals worldwide, the F4 remains one of the finest manual-and-autofocus film bodies ever made.

This is the standard Nikon F4 fitted with the compact MB-20 grip — the lighter, more compact configuration, as opposed to the larger F4s (MB-21) and F4e (MB-23).

IMPORTANT — Please read carefully:
The shutter-speed display in the upper-left of the viewfinder is NOT showing, caused by liquid leakage in the finder's LCD. Separately, the battery compartment had slight traces of past leakage; this has been cleaned, and the camera has been confirmed to power on and operate normally. Please read the Known Issues section before bidding.

Condition: USED — Good
After cleaning, the camera powers on and operates correctly apart from the in-finder shutter-speed display noted below. There is cosmetic wear consistent with professional use.

Exposure modes: P / S / A / M (S and P require CPU lenses).
Finder: DP-20 Multi-Meter Finder (matrix, center-weighted, spot).

Known Issues
1. In-finder shutter-speed display not working: There is liquid leakage in the LCD of the upper-left shutter-speed display inside the viewfinder, and it does not show. This is a defect, not a stylistic characteristic. All other functions operate normally. Shooting impact: you cannot read the shutter speed inside the finder, but the shutter speed can still be set and read on the top-plate shutter-speed dial, the optical aperture readout is unaffected, and metering still functions — so the camera remains usable, with the loss of in-finder data being the main inconvenience.
2. Battery compartment: slight traces of past battery leakage were found. The contacts have been cleaned and the camera confirmed to power on and operate normally.
