Description from the seller

Russian Orthodox icon painted on a panel with a gold background, probably from the 19th century.

Top left: The Virgin known as the Burning Bush (Neopalimaya Kupina), a complex Marian depiction very popular in Russia. The Virgin appears in the center surrounded by circles and celestial symbols.
Top right: The Virgin with Child, possibly a variant of the Virgin of Smolensk or Hodegetria, though the condition makes absolute identification difficult.
Bottom left: a female holy martyr. The inscription seems to correspond to a saint venerated in the Russian tradition; it could be Paraskeva, though the inscription would need to be examined in more detail.
Bottom right: a bishop saint, probably Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker, depicted with the Gospel and episcopal vestments.

The frame stamped with geometric motifs on gold leaf and the four-compartment layout are characteristic of provincial Russian workshops of the 19th century.
