Three sling projectiles, Ancient Greece, 4th to 1st centuries BCE.
- Legend projectile «AΓOPOV»:
Historical period: 4th to 3rd centuries BCE.
Culture: Greek-Macedonian, Ancient Greece.
Object: lead lenticular sling projectile with bas-relief legend «AΓOPOY» of Aphoros.
Material: lead.
Inscription or engraving: bas-relief engraving of the word «AΓOPOY/APOPOU/AFOPOV» on one of its two faces.
Dimensions: 4.9 x 2.6 cm. Condition: good, magnificently preserved.
- Engraved projectile «spear tip»:
Historical period: 1st century BCE.
Culture: Greek-Macedonian, Ancient Greece.
Material: lead.
Inscription or engraving: spear tip on one of its two faces.
Dimensions: 4.1 x 2.3 cm.
Object: lead lenticular sling projectile with relief engraving of a spear tip on one of its two faces.
Condition: good, magnificently preserved.

Historical period: 3rd to 1st centuries BCE. Alexander the Great.

Object: lead lenticular sling projectile.
Condition: good, magnificently preserved.
Provenance: this lot was acquired at A. Gallery of Historical and Archaeological Objects, 2004, Spain. Previously: private collector from Surrey, United Kingdom, gathered in the 1960s.
These objects belong to a larger lot of 26 projectiles and form part of the same collection assembled in the 1960s.
