Power supply (AC): Perfectly functional with its original Sony 6V power adapter provided. The unit powers on instantly.
Power supply (batteries): Tested and functional with its battery housing. The contacts are immaculate.
Display & Lighting: The LCD screen lights up perfectly, all display functions are clear, and the backlight (Light button) is fully functional.
IMPORTANT – (Not tested with cassette):
Having no DAT cassette available, this device has not been tested with any cassette. Consequently, the mechanical operation of playback, recording, spool-up/spindle, or ejection of the compartment remains completely unknown. Given the age of the device and the known sensitivity of the era’s miniature mechanisms (belts, gears), it is sold as-is, with no guarantee of mechanical operation. It is ideal for a knowledgeable collector, a technician, or for refurbishment/restoration.
