Description from the seller
Large Neoclassical Table Lamp with Corinthian Capital – Brass & Lucite – c. 1970
A very impressive and elegantly shaped table lamp (height no less than 74 cm), dating from the 1970s. This high-quality design is strongly analogous to the luxurious neoclassical lighting from renowned Belgian manufacturers such as S.A. Boulanger and Lustrerie Deknudt.
The lamp is built as a classical Roman column. The base consists of a heavy, stepped square foot of solid brass (13x13 cm). The shaft is made from a thick, transparent cylinder of plexiglass (lucite) through which the brass cable routing runs gracefully. The column is beautifully crowned by an extremely detailed, finely cast Corinthian capital in gold-colored brass.
This piece is equipped with a very generous conical fabric shade with an impressive diameter of 60 cm, giving the lamp a rich and luxurious appearance. The underside of the cast base shows the original, solid construction and authentic patina of age. An absolute eyecatcher that sits strikingly in classic, eclectic, or modern chic interiors.
Specifications:
