Yamaha A-500 – technically tested, measured, very clean condition

A very nice vintage centerpiece

I am selling a Yamaha A-500 that I have completely checked, small parts replaced, cleaned, and measured for accuracy.

This is explicitly not an unchecked device, but a technically sound amplifier built cleanly.

Work performed:

• all inputs tested (including Phono MM and MC)

• switches and potentiometers cleaned

• speaker relays replaced

• unit cleaned inside and out

• offset and idle current set correctly

• critical solder joints checked

• 3 transistors replaced (due to thermal irregularities)

• speaker relays replaced

• phase at the power plug adjusted


Measurement (Rohde & Schwarz Audio Analyzer):

• Distortion at 1 watt:

• Distortion at 95 watts (max distortion-free output):

• Measurement performed at 8 ohms in stereo operation

• Both channels equally stable

Status / Function:

• technically flawless

• no dropouts or contact problems

• plays very cleanly and stably


Appearance: Very well-maintained condition (see pictures)
