Description from the seller

This is a silver-plated wine bottle cradle (also known as a wine cradle or porte-bouteille) from the prestigious French silver house Christofle, originating from their well-known Gallia collection. The specific model is known as the "Beaune" pattern, named after the historic wine capital in the Burgundy region.
Designed to rest a wine bottle (notably Burgundy bottles) at a slant. This ensures that any sediment (beezon) remains at the bottom of the bottle when pouring.
This Art Deco-inspired model was designed around 1930 and produced well into the 1950s and 1960s. It is characterized by the clean, open-worked silver-plated metal wires and the elegantly shaped carrying handle.
