The Savonarola is a folding wooden chair, composed of serpentine curved elements, with backrest and armrests.
The term "Savonarola" derives from the name Girolamo Savonarola (1452 - 1498), in whose time the chair of this type would still be preserved in his cell at the San Marco convent in Florence, where he lived from 1482 until his death.

Still in excellent condition, normal signs of wear and aging (see photo).
