A mixed lot of 18 silver-plated metal tableware items from STREB, Ce’ Ve’, and HUB, dating to the early 20th century with origins in France and Austria, in very good condition, including a STREB-marked boat-shaped sauce boat, two milk jugs marked Ce’ Ve’ and Kolchugino, a combined cruet set with glass inserts on a framed tray, nine silver-plated lemon squeezers, and a vintage wall-mounted liquid soap dispenser from the 1930s–40s.
Description from the seller
Lot consisting of a number of silver-plated objects from an antique luxury hotel.
Period: from the 1920s to the 1950s.
- 1 sauce boat that features a classic boat-shaped or helmet-shaped design, silver-plated, stamped STREB.
- 2 milk jugs described as creamers, showing styles ranging from classic to Art Déco, stamped Ce' Ve', Kolchugino
- 1 combined dining set, commonly called a cruet set (or ménage), designed to serve both spices and beverages. The item is made of silver-plated metal with glass inserts, and rests on a shaped tray.
- 9 silver-plated tea-lemon squeezers.
-1 vintage wall-mounted swiveling dispenser for liquid soap, dating roughly to the 1930s or 1940s.
Design and Materials: It is characterized by a fluted white opaline glass bulb (associated with historic lines such as Carmen by H.U.B. for hotels and public baths of the era). The bulb is mounted on a curved metal support with a wall-mounting base.
Operation: The dispenser operates on a gravity-based system. By rotating or tilting the bulb on its axis, the soap flows from the metal spout positioned at the top.
Dimensions: As visible from the ruler placed next to it, the overall height of the structure is about 18–19 centimeters.
