Description from the seller

Rare liquor cabinet in the shape of a stack of antique books – 19th century

Elegant and original liquor cabinet concealed beneath the appearance of a stack of antique leather-bound books.

This presentation model, particularly sought after, evokes a small library and testifies to the 19th century taste for curiosities and secret compartments furniture. The interior reveals a set of finely decorated glassware including two decanters and several glasses arranged in their original positions.

Description :

* Case simulating a stack of four antique leather-bound books.
* Lined and decorated interior with gilded fittings.
* Two crystal/cut-glass decanters with gilded decoration.
* Seven spaces for glasses.
* Five original glasses preserved.
* One old glass added later as a replacement.
* One glass slot missing.

Condition :
Good display condition considering the object's age. The bindings show wear, rubbing and losses consistent with age and use, contributing to the charm of the piece.

To note :

* A chip at the neck of one of the two decanters (see the last photo).
* One glass missing from the seven planned slots.
* One glass is not original but was added long ago to complete the set.
