Ren Hang (1987–2017) was an influential Chinese photographer and poet, known for his bold and provocative photography. His work often features naked friends and models in surreal, playful poses, through which he explores themes such as the body, freedom, and taboos.
Despite censorship in China, Ren Hang received much international recognition and exhibited in galleries and museums worldwide. His unique style, often photographed with a simple camera and flash, made him an iconic figure in contemporary photography. He passed away in 2017 at the age of 29, but his work remains influential worldwide.
