French crystal wine decanter, model Juvisy Élysée, Baccarat, dating from 1850–1900, in very good used condition with small traces of aging, height 33.5 cm.
Description from the seller
Grand crystal wine carafe by Baccarat, Juvisy model.
The Juvisy service is one of the most famous Baccarat crystal patterns, chosen by Emile Loubet in 1899 to become the official service of the Élysée. This superb pattern, created in 1867 for the Universal Exposition, is a masterpiece: it consists of interwoven scales, all identical, with no misalignment. It is through the perfection of these patterns (entirely handmade) that one can measure Baccarat's technical supremacy. The feet and bases are cut in a star shape.
Ancient piece, not bearing Baccarat signature. The model is listed in the numerous catalogues of tableware from the late 19th and 20th centuries.
It is in very good condition; slight white veil in the bottom
Height: 33.5 cm
