Great African light wooden mask form the NGBAKA tribe of Zaire. These kind of masks are worn during initiation ceremonies. The mask has an oval and a concave face with an elongated triangular nose. Situated in the northwest, the Ngbaka used masks within the scope of the initiation and circumcision rituals, called gaza: “that which gives strength”.
Masks in the Uele and Ubangi regions are very rare,
