Qur'an Manuscript, an original Arabic-language miniature one-page leaf (10 cm by 6.5 cm) dating from 1780, titled Qur'an Manuscript, author Unknown, in very good condition, with subject Religion.
Description from the seller
A highly desirable miniature leaf from a Qur'an dated 1760 containing the concluding verses of chapter 42, Surah Ash-Shura (Consultation), the header for chapter 43, Az-Zukhrtuf (The Ornaments) and v.1-5 of the chapter. It is written in elegant naskh sciprt on cream-toned paper. The closing verses of Ash-Shura affirm that the Prophet received divine revelation purely through God's will and mercy, not through his own design. The verses remind believers that God guides whom he wills towards the straight path as an act of grace. The opening verses of chapter 43 begin with the mysterious scared letters Ha-Meem, whose true meaning is known only to God, inviting contemplation and reverence. The verses affirm that the Qur'an itself is a 'clear book', referring to the Qur'an's quality of its being plain, lucid, and unambiguous in its driving guidance. It all carried a deeper meaning, suggesting the Qur'an perfection is itself proof of divine origin.
It is written in naskh Arabic script over 10 lines separated by a richly illuminated surah heading in gold, blue and polychrome, featuring floral arabesque motifs on a burnished ground, with the chapter title scribed in elegant naskh. Surah. There is full framed margins around the scripture in red and gold. Multiple simple 'aya' in gold separate the individual verses.
