Important gilded bronze candelabrum with winged angels – 19th century

An important, richly carved gilded bronze torch holder/candlestick, resting on a three-legged, inclined foot. The base is adorned with three finely carved, seated winged angels holding symbolic attributes (a book, a gesture of prayer), testifying to high-quality craftsmanship and a strong decorative presence. The polygonal shaft is decorated with recesses, grooves and profiles, embellished with polychrome cabochons and a centrally set floral motif, giving the piece an elegant polychromy. The upper holder is designed to accommodate a stubby candle. A characterful decorative object, ideal for a classical interior, a ecclesiastical setting, or as a vitrine for a collection.

Materials: Gilded bronze with antique gilding and a beautiful, even patina from use.
Condition: Generally in very good condition. Normal wear to the gilding and light traces of old oxidation in the recesses.
