Description from the seller
The item is located in Milan (Italy).
Elegant and imposing central desk (finished on all four sides) made in the mid-20th century, recalling the stylistic dictates of the Directoire and Neoclassical periods.
The piece stands out for its sober, geometric lines, perfect for a professional study as well as a reception room.
The rectangular top features a refined fishbone veneer (square-cut) enclosed by a perimeter border. To protect the wooden surface, there is a custom protective glass with beveled corners.
The undersurface paneling is enriched by a distinctive geometric decoration of hemispherical studs carved into the wood, running along the entire perimeter.
The front hosts two capacious drawers equipped with a lock and complete with original keys from the era.
The piece is supported by four sturdy inverted-pyramid legs (truncated-conical/pyramidal), typical of the referenced style, ending in spool feet.
The desk cannot be dismantled, so it requires dedicated transportation.
