Description from the seller
Exceptional and rare pair of two-piece corner cabinets (two-part stackable corner furniture) in Louis XV style.
Designed in solid oak of very fine cabinetry quality, these two pieces form a perfect ensemble, ideal for symmetrically furnishing the corners of a dining room or living room.
Part upper part (The tall sideboard / Corner display cabinet)
Facade: Each corner cabinet opens with a curved-glass door shaped like a gendarme’s hat on its upper portion, perfectly following the line of the molded cornice.
Interior: The glass space offers three display levels thanks to sturdy oak angled shelves, ideal for showcasing collectible items, crystal, or china.
Sculptures: The upper crosspiece under the cornice is richly carved with vegetal friezes and baroque-relief scrolls.
Part lower part (The lower corner sideboard)
Drawer: In the belt, each piece features a large curved corner drawer, adorned with fine foliate carvings and equipped with a pair of original hanging bronze pulls.
Door: The lower part opens with a solid door whose central panel is richly sculpted in bas-relief with a hanging floral medallion and stylized cartouches, in perfect harmony with the rest of the dining room ensemble.
Pedestal and Features
The lower crosspiece is serpentine and centered by a latticed shell sculpted in relief.
Each piece rests at the front on curved feet (ox-foot feet) ending in a rolled volute.
Logistics: The upper and lower parts separate (two-piece furniture), which greatly facilitates transport and installation. Very good overall condition, sound wood and superb patina.
