This highly impressive bluish lower jaw Megalodon tooth originates from the United States, where fossils like these are found directly on the seabed. This gives a beautiful robust appearance and an authentic, “provenance” look – pure nature. But this tooth truly has perfect serrations, which is certainly unique among USA teeth!
Compared to fossils from other localities, such as Indonesia, USA teeth are known for their solid, strong roots and high degree of originality. Indonesian teeth can sometimes show sharper serrations and a smoother enamel due to the sediment type in which they are found, but are also more often restored or even partially reconstructed. In the USA, restoration is much less common, making most finds – such as this specimen – fully authentic.
This tooth is 100% original and unrestored, with a powerful root and lovely natural details. A special and honest piece for the serious collector who values authenticity.
