Description from the seller
The Marantz PM 700 AV (often indicated as PM-700) is a vintage integrated amplifier produced in the early 80s (circa 1980-1981). Although the label "AV" might evoke modern Home Cinema, it is in fact a powerful two-channel analog stereo amplifier designed for pure high fidelity.
Main Technical Features
Output power: 70 + 70 Watts into 8 Ohms
Frequency response: 10 Hz ~ 60,000 Hz
Total Harmonic Distortion (THD): 0.03%
Phono inputs: Supports both MM (Moving Magnet) and MC (Moving Coil) cartridges with dedicated selectors
Dimensions: 416 × 146 × 330 mm
Weight: About 10 kg, indicative of solid build with an excellent power supply section.
The Marantz PM 700 AV is a perfect representative of the historic Marantz philosophy of that era.
Timbre: It is characterized by a warm, musical, and enveloping sound. It is not a clinical or cold amplifier.
Mid and high range: Voices are very natural and silky, while the highs are present but never annoying, making it ideal for long listening sessions without fatigue.
Low end: The basses are full, round, and rich, with excellent control (damping factor 110) that gives great body to acoustic instruments and vinyl.
