Description from the seller

Set of 6 Coffee Spoons in Vermeil (Solid Silver 950) - PB Goldsmith - Original box with Key - Late 19th Century

Description :
Object: Rare and elegant set of 6 coffee spoons (or moka) in vermeil. Material: Solid silver of first title (950/1000) coated with a fine layer of gold (Vermeil). Total weight of the spoons: 76 grams. Hallmarks: Minerva head: French guarantee hallmark "Head of Minerva" in an octagonal frame (first title) present on each piece.

Goldsmith: Master mark "PB" with a central symbol (attributed to a Parisian silversmith of the late 19th century, in the Philippe Berthier style).

Design & Style: Superb Rocaille / Louis XV style decoration with spatulas richly adorned with volutes, foliage and floral motifs. The chasing work is of great finesse, typical of high French silversmithing.

Case: The set is presented in its original wooden box (fine veneer of rosewood or ebony), with its red velvet and silk lining. Rare detail: the box includes its original functional key.

Condition:
Spoons: Excellent condition. The vermeil remains very bright and nicely yellow, with no major visible wear. No deformation or deep scratches.
Box: Very good overall condition for its age. Some signs of use on the wood that attest to its authenticity. The lock mechanism is operational.
