Created in '82 for the collaboration with the adults' magazine Playmen, "Il Gioco" is the most playful fruit of Manara's erotism as well as the work that cemented his international standing. The protagonist is Claudia Cristiani, the beautiful yet repressed wife of a rich and insipid bourgeois. Clad in restrained garments, with her hair pulled back into a severe chignon, Claudia soon ends up naked and disheveled, prey to the most unrestrained sexual fantasies. The transformation is triggered by a completely special device that unleashes instincts and impulses with the help of a microchip. Naturally, many will want to seize it, making the lovely heroine suffer pleasant vendettas and repeated embarrassment.
