Often regarded as Goldberg's flagship project, Raised by Wolves, originally published in 1995, combines ten years of original photographs, texts and other illustrative elements (family home movie photos, snapshots, drawings, diary entries and images of discarded objects) to document the lives of runaway youths in San Francisco and Los Angeles. Goldberg publishes a Xerox-style bootleg edition of the book with many surprises inserted by the artist.
