A book-artist in every sense of the term, this gold-edged volume reassembles the pages of the original edition into a giant collage, and offers both the empirical work of Oehlen at the borders of painting and an updated account of his oeuvre.

Albert Oehlen was born in 1954 in Krefeld, Germany. A graduate of the Hochschule für Bildende Kunst in Hamburg in 1978, he gained recognition at the start of the 1980s and began to exhibit worldwide. Influenced by Georg Baselitz, Sigmar Polke, and Gerhard Richter, Oehlen's work focuses on the process of creation, exhibiting the constitutive elements of painting. He lives in Switzerland. In his lifetime, he ranks among the nine German artists listed in the top 100 global sales.
