This is a pair of ceremonial/decorative bronze stirrups — evident in the rich ornamentation that functional military stirrups rarely had.
The D-shaped arch with a broad oval footplate is characteristic of Ming- and Qing-dynasty stirrup designs.
The stirrup was invented in China and changed world history by revolutionizing cavalry.
