Description from the seller

Remington Portable typewriter – 1924 – AZERTY edition for the Belgian/French market

Elegant and authentic Remington Portable typewriter from 1924, produced in the rare AZERTY configuration for the Belgian/French market.

This iconic portable typewriter belongs to the earliest generation of portable Remingtons and represents the refined industrial design of the roaring twenties. The model combines functionality with timeless aesthetics: black lacquered metal bodywork, refined glass keys and a beautiful open segment with visible type arms.
The machine bears serial number NE85534, dated October 1924.

Particularly charming is the French keyboard layout with original accents and “Majuscules” keys, which makes this edition especially attractive to collectors of international typewriters.

Condition:
The typewriter is in nice vintage condition with normal signs of use and aging appropriate for an object over 100 years old. The mechanism moves, keys respond and the machine retains a handsome authentic appearance with a lovely patina.
The ink ribbon works but needs replacing.
A decorative and collectible object that fits perfectly in a stylish interior, library, office or collection of design and typewriter enthusiasts.
