Original Thonet Small Sofa Model No. 8 from the Era – Bentwood and Vienna Straw
Description:
Splendid and rare original Thonet small sofa dating to the late 19th / early 20th century (circa 1900), crafted in the iconic steam-bent wood that has made design history worldwide.
The piece is in excellent preserved condition and is ideal for enriching living rooms, entrances, or spaces with eclectic and modern-retro style.
Authenticity guaranteed: It bears the original heat-embossed stamp "THONET" impressed directly on the wooden frame (visible under the seat), a fundamental detail that certifies its period originality and preserves its collectible value.
Structure: The wood retains its beautiful original patina and is structurally solid. Fluid lines and elegant curls on the arms.
Seat and Backrest: Characterized by the classic, elegant Vienna straw with a tight weave. The seat is in excellent condition. The backrest features the characteristic open circular framework of this specific series.
Dimensions: 148 x 100 x 46 cm
Needs a small restoration not visible under the seat; see photos.
