Caleppio - Ajmone Giuseppe - Paperweight - La Spirale - .800 silver

It is a circular paperweight with a diameter of 6 cm, made for the company Caleppio. The object's peculiarity lies in the collaboration with the artist Giuseppe Ajmone (1923–2005), an Italian painter and engraver, representative of existential realism and very active in the Milanese art scene.
• Materials: As indicated by the certificate and the stamps, it is made of 800 silver (the upper relief) and brass (the base and supporting frame). The total weight of the paperweight is 400 g. The silver part is only superficial, but I do not know how many grams it may be.
• Subject: The silver relief features an informal/abstract style typical of Ajmone's mature period, with moving, organic surfaces that play with the light reflections.
• Hallmarks: On the back is the "Caleppio" logo, a company known in the 1960s and 1970s for producing design objects and corporate gifts. On the front, at the bottom, the silver hallmark (800) is visible.
