A fine Belle Epoque late 19th century silver plated salver or cabaret by one of Edinburgh´s most prestigious houses: Wilson & Sharp, measuring circa 20cm in diameter and weighing 400g. Stamped to the underside with maker´s mark and model number.
Wilson and Sharp was established in 1889 as a partnership between Robert Wilson and Andrew Sharp. Andrew Sharp served his apprenticeship with the Edinburgh firm of Hamilton & Inches. He left H & I to run the silver department at T.J. Paris & Co. of Liverpool before establishing his partnership firm with Robert Wilson. Wilson & Sharp were absorbed into Mappin & Webb in the 1970's.
Estimated age: Circa 1900
Condition: Very good, no significant damages or repairs. Minor wear commensurate with age, see pictures.
