Description from the seller
Elegant English flower-top occasional table, known as “Margherita” (daisy), dating from the early 1800s, crafted in fine mahogany. An exquisite example of early 19th-century English production, characterized by formal balance and meticulous attention to detail.
The round top is finely shaped with a petal-ruffled edge, echoing the form of a daisy, and is adorned with a spectacular radial grain arranged in a spoke-like pattern that converges harmoniously at the center, highlighting the quality of the mahogany.
The turned central column rests on three sinuous legs, enriched with vegetal carvings and ending in carved paw feet, a detail typical of English taste of the era. The tripod base provides stability and a sense of lift, while maintaining elegant and light proportions.
A table of great charm, ideal as a living room centerpiece, gueridon, or conversation table, perfect for classical interiors, studies, or historic homes.
Dimensions:
Height: 62 cm
Diameter: 90 cm
