Description from the seller

GENERAL

This Mercedes-Benz 250S belongs to the emblematic W108 generation, a series designed by Paul Bracq that defined the brand’s luxury at the end of the 1960s. Built in 1967, the vehicle is equipped with a 2.5-liter inline six M108 engine with twin carburetion that originally develops about 130 horsepower. This unit, which shows an odometer reading of 6,700 kilometers, comes with a four-speed automatic transmission and has the factory optional feature of an electric sunroof that works perfectly. It has belonged to a Madrid-based collector for the past two years, who keeps it in constant use and enjoys it monthly at classic car gatherings and routes of 100 to 300 kilometers, proving it behaves as a fully reliable car for travel.

CARROZZA Y PINTURA

The bodywork presents a well-chosen color combination that joins its exterior gray with the Camel tone of the upholstery. In general, the paint retains an intense shine and a very aesthetic appearance, allowing immediate enjoyment of the car without the need for any urgent cosmetic modification. The vehicle shows the typical signs of time’s passage and some small spots of surface rust that can be examined in detail in the attached photo report.

MECÁNICA

The mechanical side is up to date thanks to regular maintenance by the specialist in charge of the owner’s collection, who has just carried out a complete tune-up along with an oil and filter change. The six-cylinder engine starts first time both cold and hot, while the automatic transmission shifts smoothly. The car has no maintenance outstanding and is ready to drive.
INTERIOR
The cabin highlights what is believed to be its original Camel leather upholstery, well preserved and with the natural cracks from use and the passage of decades, displaying the patina characteristic of a very enjoyed classic but with no notable tears. The interior roof lining is in generally good condition and the electric sunroof operates optimally, also guaranteeing complete watertightness with no leaks when it rains.

RECOGIDA

The car is physically located in Madrid, Spain, an ideal location due to its dry climate that has helped the vehicle to be very well preserved, added to the fact that it has been stored in a garage throughout its life. If it is awarded in the sale, the seller offers the advantage of up to 20 days of free storage before proceeding with removal.

OTRA INFORMACIÓN

The undercarriage reflects a good overall state, showing only a minimal amount of surface rust due to the car’s age. This light condition does not affect the overall structure since the automobile has resided for many years in Madrid’s dry environment, shielded from the humidity that typically harms the undercarriage of these models.

Disclaimer

Catawiki always aims to offer you the best possible buying experience. Our experts virtually review and select every vehicle in line with our submission guidelines and we require our sellers to provide the most accurate description of the vehicle. However, providing a fully detailed analysis of the vehicle is extremely difficult, and close to impossible. To guide you, we ask our sellers to provide information about the vehicle’s condition. Please consider that most vehicles for sale are classic vehicles and they often already have a whole life behind them, meaning that even a condition 1 or 2 vehicle might need maintenance to be ready for the road. It is advised to carefully read our submission guidelines that further describe details about the condition grades and types to manage your expectations. Cars are sold “as is”, meaning as described and in the condition they are in at the time of the sale and without any representation, warranty or assumption of liability of any kind as to the condition by Catawiki or by the seller. The condition of this item is the opinion of the seller and may differ from yours, your local garage, or the dealer’s opinion. This does not automatically mean the car does not conform to its description. Before bidding, please check your local legislation regarding vehicle registration. Neither the seller nor Catawiki is responsible for the registration of the vehicle in your country and will not accept a cancellation for your failure to register the vehicle. We also recommend that, if possible, you arrange a viewing with the seller before placing a bid.
