Andalucia, a vintage metal car badge from Spain issued as a souvenir for the Andalusia region, year 1960, 7.8 cm square and 0.25 cm deep, in fair condition and authentic.
Description from the seller
This object is a vintage metal car badge (also called a grille emblem or car badge) from Spain, specifically issued as a souvenir or club badge for the region of Andalusia. Car badges like these were especially popular in the 1950s, 60s and 70s among European motorists to mount on the grill or bumper of the car as a memento of vacation trips.
Important details of the badge:
Theme & Region: The badge shows the text España (Spain) at the top and Andalucia on the mint-green ribbon at the bottom.
Central image: Two traditional flamenco dancers (a man and a woman in a typical polka-dot dress), which is the symbol of Andalusian culture.
Symbols in the edge: Around the dancers are various iconic Spanish and Andalusian symbols cast in metal, such as:
A Spanish guitar (top left)
A bull's head (bottom left)
A bottle of wine with glass (bottom right)
A Spanish hat (sombrero cordobés) (right middle)
Sunflowers (top right)
Mounting: On the left and right sides of the inner ring are two screw holes visible which were later added. This allowed the badge to be fastened to the grille of a classic car with a metal clip.
