Description from the seller
Very beautiful book: Dynasty of photographer Ivan Pinkava, Czech, with a magnificent printing (sorry but my photographs do not show this quality) first edition of 1993.
Condition: excellent, to be very precise: a few small and rare foxings (see photo) only on the head edge (top edge, see the photo) and two pages that do not fully open at the edge of the binding over 1 cm, (see photo with a blue circle added) but this does not hinder the consultation of the book and the photos (probably a micro manufacturing flaw). Everything else is perfect, like new.
Dynasty is the first major monograph of the Czech photographer Ivan Pinkava. Published in Prague in 1993 by ERM, this reference work gathers a selection of portraits and black-and-white compositions that revealed the artist on the international scene. Accompanied by a text by art historian Josef Kroutvor, the photographs explore the themes of identity, time, memory and the human condition in an aesthetic inspired by classical painting. A major work of contemporary Czech photography, now sought after by collectors.
Ivan Pinkava is one of the most important Czech photographers of his generation. His work Dynasty constitutes his first major monograph and remains today one of his most sought-after books.
