Description from the seller
GERMANY. Berlin. 10 Mark. 1990
- Value: 10 Mark.
- Year: 1990.
- Inscriptions: Obverse: Johann Gottlieb Fichte · 1762–1814. Reverse: DEUTSCHE DEMOKRATISCHE REPUBLIK · 10 MARK · 1990, with the national emblem of the German Democratic Republic.
- Grade: MS65 (PCGS).
Commemorative 10 Mark coin issued by the German Democratic Republic in 1990 in honor of philosopher Johann Gottlieb Fichte, one of the leading figures of German idealism. The obverse shows Fichte standing beside a lectern in a reading or speech pose, a realistic and detailed depiction that emphasizes his intellectual and academic work. The reverse features the official coat of arms of the German Democratic Republic surrounded by the state inscription and the denomination. The piece preserves an extraordinary state of preservation, with fully defined relief, bright surfaces and virtually flawless fields, characteristics in line with the high grade MS65. This issue also holds notable historical interest as it belongs to the last year of the existence of the German Democratic Republic, shortly before Germany’s reunification in October 1990, becoming one of the last commemorative coins issued by that state.
Disclaimer: For orders shipped outside the European Union, I want to leave absolutely clear that I do ship from Spain, which means that if the package is sent to any country outside the European Union, and/or inside the EU that has a special tax agreement (example: Canary Islands), it might be stopped at your local customs and they might ask you to pay taxes. This is a customs legal procedure and it is completely out of our control. Thanks for your understanding.
