Description from the seller
Set of 6 goblets in heavy transparent crystal, mouth-blown and hand-polished. It features a slender, slightly upward-flaring shape that narrows gradually toward the base. The lower part of the bowl is decorated with deep vertical ribbed cuts (or longitudinal facets) that end in an arch at the center, leaving the upper band of the bowl completely smooth and linear. The stem is short and stout, finely worked with a central faceted node in the shape of a hexagonal prism. This geometric detail not only provides visual stability but also makes the goblet easier to hold.
Unlike the classic circular bases, this goblet rests on a solid geometric base, apparently hexagonal, with chamfered edges that echo the geometric motifs of the stem.
The material’s transparency is crystal clear. Under the base they are signed: Boda, design by Elis Bergh, circa 1954.
This is the historic Swedish glassworks Boda Glasbruk (founded in 1864), which later became world-renowned after merging into the Kosta Boda group. The oldest part of the name dates back to 1742, the year when the Kosta glassworks was founded. The founding of Boda (1864) is the one whose signature is on the goblet.
It was founded by several master glassmakers who had left Kosta. Dimensions: height 14.5 x diameter 7.5 cm.
