Spherical ceramic vase by Manufacture Impériale (Imperial Nimy) from Belgium, in Art Deco craquelé glaze with a monochrome cream/white finish, 26 cm in diameter and 20 cm high, weighing 1 kg, in good used condition with small signs of aging and spots.
Description from the seller
Nimy, the famous Belgian earthenware factory Manufacture Impériale et Royale de Nimy (active between 1789 and 1951).
The bulb-shaped vase in your photo with the fine-mesh craquelé is a characteristic example of their production from the Art Deco period (ca. 1920-1940).
Features of the Nimy Craquelé style: Often executed in a monochrome cream color or white glaze, sometimes complemented with colorful geometric patterns.
Technique: The craquelé effect (the network of small cracks in the glaze) was a deliberate artistic choice that gives depth and character to the form.
