This powerful series of 120 works is extraordinarily moving, recognizing the personal pain experienced by Tzarev, whose childhood was marked by terrible adversity.

Includes dramatic images inspired by Tzarev's response to various global horrors, such as the Beslan massacre of 2004 and the poverty of Maya weavers in Guatemala. Through her technique and use of color, the images of "Dispossessed" convey a strong message of hope.

In December 2008, she opened the Ana Tzarev Gallery at number 24 West 57th Street, near Fifth Avenue in New York. The gallery, a space of about 1,300 square meters laid out on two floors, was designed by James Harb Architects to exhibit exclusively her works.
