Flip clock - Citizen - Plastic - 1970-1980 - Made in Japan

This is a vintage CITIZEN “Digital Timer” flip clock, model No. 017H, made in Japan. The clock features the iconic mechanical flip-style display (often called a “flip clock” or “pata-pata clock” in Japan) that automatically flips the numbered panels as time progresses, producing a charming retro movement typical of mid-20th-century clocks.

The design reflects the warm and functional aesthetics of Japanese home electronics from the late Showa period (昭和後期 / approximately 1970s–early 1980s). The soft red plastic body combined with the dark display window creates a distinctive space-age style, which has become increasingly popular among collectors of vintage design and retro interiors in Europe and North America.

This clock includes an alarm function, indicator lamp, and manual alarm control switch on the top panel. The time display uses large, easy-to-read green numerals that change automatically with the mechanical flip mechanism.

The clock operates on AC power and the power supply, flip mechanism, and alarm function have been tested and confirmed to be working. However, the long-term accuracy of timekeeping has not been tested.
