Description from the seller
Design coffee table for the living room – 70s/80s
Elegant coffee table with a strong visual impact and a typically postmodern taste, dating from the late 70s to the early 80s. The design stands out for a strict and refined geometric and material contrast.
The base consists of a hollow cubic element, finely crafted with laminated marble slabs: the main panels display a warm beige/beige-travertine veining, framed along the edges by marble inserts with pinkish/orangish shades. The internal structure of the cube features reinforced joints with visible angular metallic profiles on the supporting base. To contrast the solidity and the materiality of the marble, the large square top is made of thick transparent glass with glossy perimeter striations, which seems to float above the base, ensuring lightness and brightness in the room.
A timeless design piece, perfect both to complete living rooms with modernist and vintage furnishings, and to be inserted as an accent piece in contemporary high-end contexts.
Indicative dimensions:
Glass top: 81 x 81 cm
Glass thickness: 18 mm
Total height: 34 cm
Conditions:
The table is in excellent overall vintage condition. The marble base is structurally solid and intact. The glass top shows normal and light signs of superficial use (micro-scratches consistent with the age of the object); very slight and small chips/signs of use along the profiles or edges of the glass are noted, minimal and not indicative of structural damage, as documented in the detail images.
Shipping:
Due to the delicacy of the glass and the considerable weight of the marble base, the two elements will be packed separately with high-density professional protective materials. Shipping on pallet
glass thickness: 1.8 cm
