Victorian-era silver pendant medallion by Benjamin Duce of Birmingham, dating to 1882, featuring a detailed Canterbury cross, weighing 16.72 g with dimensions 6.2 cm by 3.6 cm, in good used condition with original glass and metal rims and a purple silk lining behind the glass.
Description from the seller
Splendid English silver pendant with a detailed Canterbury cross on it.
Made by the respected Victorian silversmith Benjamin Duce.
His workshop was located in the historic Jewellery Quarter in Birmingham and was known at the time for its high-quality, finely detailed silver trinkets, pendants and brooches.
Inside, fitted with original glass and metal rims. Behind the glass lies a purple silk fabric.

Standard Mark: A lion passant; Date Letter: h - 1882
Maker's Mark (Sponsor's Mark): BD
There is another hallmark located at the front below the cross.
Pendant length: 6.2 cm.
Width of pendant: 3.6 cm.
Weight: 16.72 g.
After decades of careful collecting I have decided to part with (part of) my collection. I wish these special objects a place with a new enthusiast who understands the value of historical preservation. It is time these pieces receive the attention they deserve, so they will be preserved for the distant future as well.
